Hello friends! Hope everyone is doing excellent. 🙂
Here in California, things are finally getting back to somewhat normal.
People are living their lives again. Enjoying the sunshine! Eating out. Drinking under the stars. Even Disneyland is welcoming back visitors.
It’s not been an easy 14 months. Even for me, an eternal optimist. I have to say, this crazy year has left an indelible mark upon my soul. That may be a slight exaggeration, but you get my point. haha
I’m just ready to rock n’ roll again!
Here are a few photos I’ve snapped over the past few months. Hope you enjoy the images! 🙂

Dear Kevin,
I have returned here to view your wonderful photos pertaining to the title of your post “California Awakens: Beaches. Deserts. Sunsets”.
I concur with Silver Screenings’ observation about the same image, and I wonder what kind of plant the “Desert Snowflakes” is. It looks like a flowering holly in the photo, which seems to have been photoshopped with a lot of blue tones.
Speaking of snowflakes, my latest post just published recently combines poetry, visual art, animations and science in an innovative way. Please come and let me know what you make of my latest foray at https://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2021/08/25/snowflakes-tell-me-why-you-are/
Thank you in anticipation. Wishing both you and Silver Screenings a productive weekend doing or enjoying whatever that satisfies you the most!
Yours sincerely,
SoundEagle

Hey Michele! Thanks so much! I know, we are such social creatures, that it’s been strange to be so restricted from one another. Great to hear from you😄😄

I’ve seen salt flats in Utah, but the salt wasn’t in this granular/crystalline form, very cool! Yes, very definitely ready for reawakening and R&R, it’s been a strange time, but so great to see things opening up and the possibility of traveling again.

Yeah, the crazy texture and form of the salt was very cool to see. Thanks for the comment Robert! Hope all is well. As for travelling, if you ever make it to SoCal, hit me up. We’ll grab a beer.

Hello Kevin…..Such beautiful images….so lovely in a time of upheaval to just bear witness to Nature and her beauty! It reminds us that beauty is all around us….no matter what….and all we need to do is to tap into it, notice it…and breathe it in!
Thank you for sharing….Many hugs, Barbara from Sydney xoxoxo

Thank you for these excellent pictures.
Last week Tornio River, which I see from my balcony, freed itself from the ice cover.
I guess that you took those winterish pictures some time ago before this day.
All the best to you and your loved ones

Thank you! Actually, those are not winter photos at all. It’s salt! I know, surprising! When we saw the salt flats for the first time, we were shocked too. Those were taken in Death Valley (hottest recorded temperature ever).
