Freestyle Friday: the evolution of ideas (and guest posts)

To each and every person who has read my blog.

Seriously. Thank you.

When I started this blog last month, I had no idea how many people were going to read it. I was pretty sure that I would write a post, hit the publish button and it would enter the stratosphere…never to be gazed upon again (except maybe by me).

Man… was I wrong.

I really appreciate all of the visitors to my blog, and all of the positive feedback. It’s been awesome.

Now that I’ve made sure I let you all know how much I appreciate your readership, I just want to touch upon the evolution of my blog.

When I first had the idea to write a blog, I really had no clue what the subject matter was going to be. Then, it hit me. I decided to write about my screenplay.

So that’s why I started writing about.

Then, I started to talk about matters of the human condition, like empathy, choices, and so on.  And relating those things to the concept of a story. And how art reflects life, and vice versa. It’s amazing how – as human beings – we are natural storytellers.

Since the dawn of humankind, we have been telling tales. I guess stories are our way of making sense of the world around us. We take our emotions…our fears…our desires. And we form them into these tales from the heart. And then we do not feel so alone.

Stories are comforting, because they can show us that we are all people, and that we all experience similar things.

I think that the great thing about telling a tale is that you can experience life through someone else’s point of view. And, that brings me to this…

I really would like other people to contribute to this blog. My goal is to publish at least one post (not written by me) once a week. And if the idea takes off, and I get lots of contributors, then I am totally down to expand it to more than once a week.

You don’t have to be a writer to contribute. Anybody that has an idea, topic or passion to write about…should write about it. And we can all read it, and see the world from your perspective. Any topic, too. It does not have to be about screenplays, or writing, or anything like that. Write about how chipmunks make you paranoid. Or how peanut butter is gross when it is in the refrigerator. Anything’s game. (Of course, it goes without saying – that I want to keep this blog a place of positivity, so no hateful, malicious or slanderous posts will be published.)

If you are interested in exploring the possibility of posting something here, and reaching an engaging and insightful audience, send me a private message through the contact form (below). We can chat about the idea. I really think this could be a cool experience. We can have this blog become a marketplace for ideas.

Have a great weekend everyone!
