Hi Friends! Hope everyone is staying safe and sane during these crazy times. 🙂

“Primitive Gold” (California, USA)
Sunsets and ghost towns. I know. Very random pairing. There’s no theme here. haha
Nope – it’s just photos that I took, which I happen to really like. 🙂
Or…maybe that’s the theme? Just find things you really like and enjoy them. Life’s fast. So, just try to have fun while you’re here.

“Evenings at Home” (California, USA)
Anyway, hope everyone is excellent. Let’s hope this pandemic ends soon, so we can live our lives to the fullest once again. Take care and be well!! 🙂

Neat post. Loved the photos. I lived in L.A. for years and used to marvel at their sunsets. I think the smog made them more beautiful. Now, in Vancouver, I delight in our cloud formations. I think we have the loveliest clouds. Life is interesting and beautiful. Keep enjoying it.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I love the California sunsets. I capture most of my shots in Ventura or Santa Barbara. My late godmother Maddy loved clouds too. 🙂 When I see an amazing cloud high above, I usually think of her. Have an awesome week!

Hi Kevin, it seems the comment I made previously didn’t come through. Let me try it again 😊
It’s lovely to read your post and see the stunning photographs. There’s always an uniqueness attached to your sunset pictures – vibrant and magical. Golden Blue and Foreshadow The Moonlight are no exception.
We’re approaching the end of this unprecedented year, and not least, the festive season of Christmas and New Year. I’d like to send my best wishes and warmest hugs to you and your family. Take care and be well.

Hi Isabelle – thank you for always being so kind with your comments about my photos. 🙂 I hear you – these times are surely unprecedented (and unwelcome). Ugh, I am soooo tired of all of it. The disease itself, and the annoying politics surrounding it. Thanks for your kind wishes. I wish all the best to you and your family for a wonderful Holiday Season, and Merry Christmas! Let’s toast to a healthier and happier 2021!

Hi Kevin, how have you been? Love the pictures. You capture California’s beauty every time. It sure has had a time with the fires. My daughter had to evac a month or so ago, and almost had to do it again with the Bond fire. Both times she has been lucky. You guys need rain. I would be glad to share some of our Pacific Northwest rain, lol.

Hi Michele – I’m good. Just getting tired of this pandemic (like all of us.) Glad to hear your daughter got lucky with the fires. It’s scary when a fire breaks out in your area. We’ve had a lot near us over the last few years, but so far we have not yet had to evacuate. (knock on wood) Yes, please send us some rain. 🙂 Always great to hear from you — hope you are doing well. 🙂

Thank you Kevin for this post, so full of positivity and hope. It is great to see you
again and feel the sun rays in the midst of what seems dark.
That Pioneers home looks so attractive in all its simplicity.
May we all come out of this wiser and happier.

Hi! Always great to hear from you. I try to remain positive. Always considered myself an optimistic guy. This year, though, has really tested my optimism. But, I remain steadfast with that pursuit. Thanks so much for your kind words!

Hi Kevin!
Your pictures warm my heart. We live in Candlewood Lake Area Of CT. which is beautiful but getting colder this time of year. Your photos are reminder we should take the necessary precautions to avoid Covid and go South to our winter home in Florida! Happy holidays!

Rock shelter ghost town reminds me of similar structures in Lajitas and Terlingua, Texas. Hard times back in those pioneer days in dry and unforgiving landscapes.

Absolutely. These shots are from Calico in the Mojave. Hot and dry, for sure!

Hey Kevin, good to see you back. Yes, safe but not entirely sane. Love that sunset pic. Could I use it, Kevin, with due attribution, next time I do a sunset poem? John

Please enjoy the music to your heart’s content!
May all of you have a lovely week and happy December!
May you and katelon find this winter and the rest of the year very much to your liking and highly conducive to your photographing, writing, thinking and blogging!
